PIRATES! 

Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of... um... chocolate milk! 

 

When I did this theme with my summer school classes, I did it during the last week, as sort of a treat. All of the kids loved turning into pirates! They especially loved the fact that the pirates snuck into our classroom when we weren't there, and left us little treasures. I don't have as much obvious academic stuff for this unit... for instance no clear reading and math lessons... but during the activities we did, the kids were learning and practicing the skills they knew already. I think everyone will love this theme!
